This year our Catholic School Council meetings have been live-streamed using our Google Calendar platform. Our last Catholic School Council Meeting will be held in person in the school Library. For families who wish to attend but cannot make the in person meeting they may access the livestream link. Our next meeting is Monday, June 13, 2022 @ 7pm

Play Day at St. Kateri Tekakwitha CES
The St. Kateri Catholic School council will be having their Annual Play Day on Friday, June 17th . The students will be divided into teams and participating in various fun-filled activities. The activities will be outdoors. Please ensure your child is dressed in weather appropriate clothing as well as sunscreen and a hat. Please see the attached letters for further information regarding the events that have been planned.
The Catholic School Council are looking for parent volunteers to help run the events on Friday, June 17th. Please see the attached letter for further details.

Confirmation
Families that are participating in Confirmation with Blessed Frederic Ozanam Parish. The Mass will take place on June 15th at St. Agnes Kouying Tsao Catholic Church ( 2130 Rodick Rd, Markham Ontario. Confirmandi are asked to arrive at 6pm, they will retrieve their gowns and find their seats with their sponsors in the first 5 pews at the front of the church. These pews will be reserved for candidates and sponsors ONLY. Mass will begin at 7pm, there is no reserved seating for families.
EQAO
Over the course of this week students in Grade 6 will participate in EQAO Testing. Further information about the testing can be found in the attached letter.

Firefighter Visit
On Monday, June 13th, the Markham Fire Department will be visiting the school. They will be offering a display of the power of their fire hoses and spraying the yard. The hose will be pointed upwards to the sky above our roof line. Students in Gr. 1 to 3 are invited to go under the spray that it will generate. Students that will be participating are asked to come prepared with a swimsuit, towel, and change of clothes and appropriate footwear.
Kindergarten/ New Student Registrations
Families who haven’t yet registered their child at St. Kateri Tekakwitha CES for September 2022, and would like to do so, may visit the school or board’s website at www.ycdsb.ca/admissions to complete the application process.

Yearbook
Here is a chance for families to see all of the wonderful events that have happened this year at St. Kateri. We will be taking orders over the next two weeks. The cost of the yearbook is $25.00. In order to ensure that we order enough yearbooks, please submit your order to the classroom teacher by Friday June 24th, 2022.
