This Week at SKTA – June 19/22

Happy Father’s Day

Father’s Day is an opportunity to pause and celebrate all the fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, and all the father figures who provide leadership, guidance to our students and families.

God, Our Father

God, our Father

Bless these men,

that they may find strength as fathers.

Let the example of their faith and love shine forth.

Grant that we, their sons and daughters,

may honor them always

with a spirit of profound respect.

Papal Visit To Canada

Pope Francis will make a pastoral visit to Canada from July 24 to 29, 2022. The Pope’s visit will provide a unique opportunity for him, once again, to listen and dialogue with Indigenous Peoples, to express his heartfelt closeness and to address the impact of colonization and the participation of the Catholic Church in the operation of residential schools throughout Canada.

Play Day at St. Kateri Tekakwitha CES

Many thanks to Mrs. Chionglo and Mrs. Costabile and the entire St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic School Council who hosted their Annual Play Day on Friday, June 17th. Thank you to the parent volunteers who helped organize and run the events for the students to participate in. This was an  amazing day for our school community, what joy and excitement it provided the students and staff to re-engage in activities that have been hallmark traditions at St. Kateri Tekakwitha CES.

Mass – In  Person

This Monday, June 20th our Grade 8 and FDK will be leading our school Mass. We welcome all our school families to join us at 11am to celebrate our faith as a school community. Mass will take place in the school gymnasium.

Confirmation

Congratulations to our Gr. 7 students who continued their personal faith journey this past week, supported by family and friends. It was a beautiful evening last Wednesday as Blessed Frederic Ozanam Parish welcomed them into the parish as adults. We look forward to seeing them continue to grow in their faith and supporting that growth in the future.
