This Week at SKTA!

This Week at SKTA! (June 8 to 12, 2026)

Dear St. Kateri Families,

As we begin our second week of June, the excitement and energy of year-end activities are certainly in the air!

This past week, we gathered as a faith community alongside Blessed Frederic Ozanam Church to celebrate an important milestone in the spiritual journey of many of our students. We were blessed to witness students receiving the Sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation. These sacred celebrations are meaningful moments for our students, families, parish, and school community, and we thank everyone who helped make these occasions so special.

We have a packed calendar and so much to celebrate over the next few days.

Here is a quick look at what’s coming up:

  • Grade 8 Final Field Trip: We want to wish our Grade 8s the absolute best time on their final elementary school field trip. We hope you make some amazing memories!

  • Track & Field Meet: On Friday, June 12th, our student-athletes will be competing at the YCDSB Track and Field Meet at St. Maximilian Kolbe CHS in Aurora. Let’s go, Tigers, go!

  • World Cup Kickoff: Friday is also a massive day for soccer fans—we’ll be cheering on Canada as they play their very first game of the World Cup!

  • Volunteer Appreciation: We are also putting the finishing touches on our upcoming Volunteer Recognition Tea to say a proper thank you to everyone who has helped us this year.

Please take a few minutes to look through the updates below to see everything happening around the school. Thank you for your continued support as we head into these final weeks!

FIFA World Cup 2026 Kickoff Assembly

Mark your calendars! Our student-led Students With Voices Club is hosting a FIFA World Cup 2026 Kickoff Assembly on Thursday, June 11 at 2:30 p.m. It’s going to be a fantastic celebration of culture, diversity, and global spirit.

We want the gym to look as festive as possible, so we’re asking families to lend us flags from any of the participating World Cup countries. If you have one we can borrow, please send it to school with your child—just be sure to label it clearly with their name and class so we can return it to you.

Don’t forget, we have some fun spirit days coming up to lead into the assembly:

  • Dress Like Your Country Day 🌍

  • Soccer Fan Day ⚽

  • Red & White Day 🇨🇦 (Go Team Canada!)

Thank you for always supporting our school events and helping us celebrate the many cultures represented in our community!
