Inclement Weather Procedures
The decision to cancel school transportation service is region-wide, meaning all school buses, vans and taxis will not be operating.
The decision will be made by 6 am in the morning and will be communicated to all standard media outlets, posted on the Board website and Twitter account, as well as updated on the SchoolBusCity website and hotline 1.877.330.3001
If transportation is cancelled in the morning due to inclement weather it will not operate in the afternoon. Therefore, students transported to school by parent(s)/guardian(s) will require the same transportation home.
We would like to stress the importance of exercising discretion when deciding to send your child to school on Inclement Weather days. Should an inclement weather day occur and student transportation is cancelled, all planned tests, quizzes, excursions, school programs, parent meetings (i.e., IPRC’s), workshops, co-curricular activities and evening presentations, and all evening permits would be cancelled. Furthermore, the hot lunch program would be cancelled for the applicable day(s).
Before and After Programs in schools make every effort to remain open in inclement weather, but Before and After Programs can only operate if the school is open. However, the decision to open or to close early is up to the discretion of the Child Care Operator.
