The Virtue of Hope
This month we celebrate the virtue of hope, one of the theological virtues listed in 1 Corinthians 13. Hope is very much a spiritual virtue. Hope is the theological virtue by which we place our trust in Christ’s promises and rely not on our own strength alone, but on the help of the grace of the Holy Spirit. Hope is strongly associated with the Advent Season: the readings from the Hebrew Scriptures and the early Gospels look forward in hope to the coming of Christ.
Ontario Catholic Graduate Expectations
The Ontario Catholic Graduate Expectations state that the student is expected to become a discerning believer formed in the Catholic Faith community who celebrates the signs and sacred mystery of God’s presence through word, sacrament, prayer, forgiveness, reflection and moral living. OCGE1 Reverence is a particularly important quality in this sacred season. We pray and reflect upon the many ways we come to understand God’s presence in our lives during this month.
Christmas Concert News
We are excited to announce our Primary and Junior division Christmas Concert on Tuesday, December 20 at 6 pm. The concert will take place in our school gymnasium. Further details to follow, early next week.

The Catholic School Council is excited to once again run the Ribbons and Bows event this year in our school gymnasium on December 15, 2022. Please see the attached flier and letter for further information on the event and the opportunity to volunteer to help with this school event.

Christmas Food Drive at St. Kateri Tekakwitha CES

Computer Science Education Week and the Hour of Code
This week is designated as Computer Science Education Week and the Hour of Code. The Hour of Code started as a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify “code”, to show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science.

Virtual Early Facilitation Parent Information Evening, January 26, 2023
The YCDSB Student Services team will once again be hosting a Virtual Information Session for Parents of Children with Exceptional Needs registering for Kindergarten Year 1 (Junior Kindergarten) in September 2023.
