This Week at St. Kateri Tekakwitha CES ( June 22 to 26)
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Prayer to End a School Year: God of wisdom, We thank You for all the gifts You have given us throughout this school year. We praise You for giving us life, for saving us in Christ and for choosing us to be Your people. As we come to the end of this school year, we voice our gratitude for the good things You have done in us, and we praise You for all who have shared in the work of this school. We ask You to bless them in Your love and give them refreshment and peace. We praise You, God, through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen. Happy Father’s Day!: We extend our warmest wishes to all the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures in our St. Kateri community. Thank you for the love, support, and guidance you provide each day. The care and encouragement you give help shape the lives of our students and strengthen our school community. We are grateful for all that you do—both the big moments and the everyday acts of kindness that make such a difference in the lives of our children. We hope you enjoy a wonderful and well-deserved Father’s Day with your loved ones.
Thank You for a Wonderful Year at St. Kateri Tekakwitha CES: St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Elementary School is a truly special place, where students are supported and encouraged by a caring community of families, staff, parish members, and our Catholic School Council. Together, we share a common commitment to nurturing the faith, learning, and well-being of every child. The unique spirit of St. Kateri is reflected in the strong relationships and sense of belonging that make our school such a wonderful community. We are deeply grateful for the continued support, partnership, and trust of our families, which have helped make this school year so successful and memorable. As we head into the summer months, the staff of St. Kateri Tekakwitha would like to extend our sincere thanks to our entire school community. We wish all of our families a safe, restful, and blessed summer, and the staff and Mrs. Palmeri look forward to welcoming everyone back in September. Together we are One! Go Tigers Go!
Staffing News: This time of year also brings change, and with that comes some bittersweet farewells. As we look ahead to next year, we would like to recognize and thank several members of our St. Kateri family who will be moving on to new opportunities:
Ms. Li, Mrs. Racket-Campbell Mrs. Simone, Mr. Wilson and Mr. Lamana,
We are grateful that they shared their gifts, talents, and dedication with our students and school community this year. Each of them has made a meaningful contribution to St. Kateri, and we thank them for the care, enthusiasm, and support they have shown our students. While they will be missed, they will always remain a part of the St. Kateri family. Once a Tiger, always a Tiger! We wish them continued success and many blessings as they begin their next chapter.
Kindergarten/ New Student Registrations: Families who haven’t yet registered their child at St. Kateri Tekakwitha CES for September 2026, and would like to do so, may visit the school or board’s website at www.ycdsb.ca/admissions to complete the application process. (Please see last weeks email for further information)
Term 2 Report Card Distribution: Every student will be bringing home a paper copy of their Term 2 Report Card. Please note that report cards will also be available on the Parent Portal this term.We encourage families to take some time to celebrate their child’s accomplishments and review the feedback together. These conversations can help recognize growth, identify goals, and support your child’s continued success in the upcoming year ahead.
Medication at School: Families are asked to pick up any medication they may have in the office prior to the end of the school year. Students who will be returning in the fall, are invited to bring their required medication back to school in September.
Play Day at St. Kateri Tekakwitha CES :Thank you to all of the volunteers who will help make this day such a memorable experience for our students. A special thank you to our Catholic School Council and Mrs. Shea for once again going above and beyond to create such a special day for our school community. Your time, dedication, and support are truly appreciated.
Lost and Found: Families are asked to remind their child to come and look at the Lost and Found section outside the library for any items they may have misplaced over the course of this term. All remaining items will be donated this Friday, June 26, 2026 to a local Catholic Charity to be repurposed. We are happy to share that we will once again be partnering with Girls Inc, Common Compass and The Empowerment Project to offer summer wellness camps.
