đź“… This Week at SKTA!
🗓️ November 10 – 14 2025

Dear St. Kateri Families,

We hope this message finds you well. This week, our students had a fantastic time participating in both the girls’ and boys’ intermediate volleyball YCDSB Local tournaments—thank you to our student-athletes and coaches for their dedication and sportsmanship! Thank you to our families that came to support the teams.

A heartfelt thank you to our school community for your generous support of our Halloween fundraising event. We are thrilled to share that, thanks to your contributions, we surpassed our fundraising goal—your generosity makes a real difference for our students and school programs.

Looking ahead, next week we will be observing Pink Shirt Day (Nov 13) as part of our anti-bullying initiatives. We encourage all students and staff to participate and show their commitment to kindness, inclusion, and respect.

Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community.

💙 Anti-Bullying Week at St. Kateri – November 10 to 14 💙

Next week, our school community will join together to recognize Anti-Bullying Week. This is an important time for students to learn about kindness, empathy, and the power of standing up for others.

Throughout the week, classes will engage in activities and reflections that encourage inclusion, respect, and positive relationships.

📅 Pink Day – November 13
Students are invited to wear pink (or any colour that represents kindness) to show their support for a bully-free school.

Together, we continue to build a caring and welcoming community where every student feels safe, valued, and respected.

✝️ Faith Connection
As followers of Christ, we are called to “love one another as I have loved you” (John 13:34). During Anti-Bullying Week, we are reminded that even small acts of kindness and courage help bring God’s love to life in our school community.

RED WEDNESDAY

The York Catholic District School Board will recognize Red Wednesday on November 19, a day to remember Christians around the world who have suffered or been persecuted for their faith. Red Wednesday encourages prayer, awareness, and action in support of religious freedom.

Students are invited to wear red and participate in age-appropriate activities that promote human dignity, solidarity, and empathy. Administrators will guide classroom prayer and reflection, helping students understand the importance of standing in solidarity with those facing persecution.

Community members are also invited to Mass at 5:30 p.m. at St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica, celebrated by Bishop John Boissonneau. Many churches and buildings will be illuminated in red that evening to show global support.

By participating, students grow in their awareness of the global Church, deepen their Catholic identity, and learn to act with compassion and empathy for others.

Free Parent EQAO Webinar – Fall 2025
Join us for a free live webinar where EQAO staff will discuss math questions that Ontario students encounter when they participate in Ontario’s large-scale assessments. These assessments are taken by all Ontario students in Grades 3, 6 and 9. During the webinar, EQAO staff will show how these math questions help assess the skills students are learning in their math classes. Staff will also share valuable insights from the past three years of assessment results, which can help parents and guardians support their children’s math learning.

Webinar date:
