🧡 Happy Thanksgiving, St. Kateri Families! 🦃🍂
As we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving, I want to take a moment to wish each of you a joyful and peaceful holiday filled with warmth, gratitude, and togetherness.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported our Thanksgiving Food Drive — your generosity and compassion truly make a difference in the lives of those in need.
This week, our school community has so much to be thankful for:
🙏 Fr. Rick for celebrating Mass with us and helping us reflect on gratitude and faith.
🏃♀️ Our Cross Country Team, who not only won their meet but also earned grade pennants for our Grade 4, 5, and 8 students!
🎉 We’re incredibly proud of the 20+ runners who will move on to the Board Championships — what an amazing achievement!
👏 A special thank you to our dedicated coaches for their time, guidance, and encouragement.
Wishing all our St. Kateri families a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving weekend.
May it be filled with good food, laughter, and the company of loved ones.
Below families is further information of upcoming events and news. For instance we encourage everyone to wear green and bring in na donation on Friday for our Eradication of Poverty Day🍁💛
💙 The Virtue of Compassion
This month, we celebrate the virtue of compassion.
In Luke’s Gospel we read, “Be compassionate as God is compassionate.” (Luke 6:17)
While October is often associated with gratitude and thanksgiving, compassion reminds us that true thankfulness begins with caring for others. Compassion is more than empathy — it’s love in action.
As part of the Ontario Catholic Graduate Expectations, students are called to be discerning believers who live their faith through kindness, reflection, and service to others.
🌍 Equity & Awareness in October
This month we also recognize:
🍁 Canadian Women’s History Month
🌙 Islamic Heritage Month
🧡 National Custodial Worker Appreciation Day (Oct. 2)
📚 World Teachers’ Day (Oct. 5)
🕊️ International Days of Non-Violence, Eradication of Poverty, and United Nations Day
🎃 Hallowe’en
💫 Global Diversity Awareness Month & National Disability Employment Awareness Month
Together, let’s continue to celebrate compassion, gratitude, and inclusion in all we do!

🎃 Halloween Dance Fundraiser Kick-Off!
Today, our school community gathered in the gym to kick off our Halloween Dance Fundraising Campaign! 🧡 These funds play a vital role in supporting student learning and enhancing classroom experiences.
Students have brought home a letter and donation form with all the details. Our goal is to raise over $7,000 to support a variety of school initiatives and resources.
Thank you for taking a moment to review the letter and for your continued support of our St. Kateri community!
