7-Generation Bioregional Earth Summit

A special event for EcoClub students (Grades 6-12) and teachers/parents will be held on Saturday, April 6, 1-5 pm at the Markham Museum.

This will be an amazing learning opportunity to help children and adults connect with what matters to them and where they find inspiration in the world around them.

The book Dream encourages dialogue across generations as part of 7-Generation GTB (Greater Tkaronto Bioregion). You’re never too young or too old to dream, and the dreams of generations together are even more powerful. A dream is the front end of our legacy. The legacy we create, in our communities and for our planet, is more important now than ever before. The last line in Dream is, “Dream a dream… your very own dream.” How do you dream your very own dream? How can you make that dream real?

The Dreamshop will be led by Dr. Isabela Granic (McMaster University). She has also worked with student EcoLeaders at the 7-Generation Bioregional Earth Summit.

The Dreamshop will help young and old explore your Glimmers (the things that matter to you). You’ll have an opportunity to share and shape ideas with people of all ages – students, teachers, parents, Elders-in-Residence, and community members.

One of the Legacy Projects we can all help dream into reality is the first GTB Bioregional Market at the Markham Museum on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 1-5 pm which will “Celebrate Mother Earth and All Mothers”.

GTB DREAMSHOP

Date/Time: Saturday, April 6, check-in 12:30 pm, Dreamshop 1:00-5:00 pm, with refreshments. There is no cost to attend. Please bring your own water bottle. Wear clothes appropriate for going outside for a walk.

Location: Markham Museum is located on 25 beautiful acres, and brings together past and present. The Dreamshop will be in the Transportation Hall, 9350 Markham Road (Highway 48), Markham, ON  L3P 3J3.

Context: 7-Generation GTB is about social regeneration (generations in the community) and ecological regeneration (community in bioregion) – people and place. We celebrate our bioregion, our “life place” – the GTB (Greater Tkaronto Bioregion).
