Dear St. Kateri Tekakwitha CES Families,
As we enter this sacred season, we extend our warmest wishes to you and your loved ones for a blessed Easter.
Easter reminds us of the hope, renewal, and new life that come through the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. As people of faith, may this season fill your hearts with peace, joy, and a deep sense of hope for the days ahead.
In the spirit of Easter, we invite you to reflect on the gift of love and sacrifice, and the promise that even in difficult moments, light and new beginnings are always possible.
Please join us in this Easter prayer:
Loving God,
We give you thanks for the gift of Easter
and the hope we find in the Resurrection of your Son.
Fill our hearts with your peace and joy.
Help us to be people of kindness, compassion, and faith,
bringing your light to those around us.
May our families be blessed with love and unity
as we celebrate this holy season together.
Amen.
Wishing you a joyful and blessed Easter filled with hope and renewal.
Eco Club News: A message from the St. Kateri Eco Club – a big thank you to all families that contributed to our battery collection in the fall. Our school collected over 125 kg of batteries! So many batteries were kept out of landfills thanks to your efforts! This prevents dangerous chemicals from entering our waterways. We really appreciate your help with this initiative. We continue to collect batteries at the school. We will also participate in the Call2Recycle Battery collection contest next fall!Â
Class Placement Request: It’s hard to believe but we are nearing the end of another school year, and preparing for the beginning of the next school year. In order to prepare for the 2026-27 school year, we would like to share the following information with our school community. Class Organization Parent Requests 2026/27
National Day of Mourning:Â April 28, 2026 is the National Day of Mourning, a time to honour workers across Canada who have lost their lives, been injured or disabled on the job, or suffer from occupational illnesses. To mark this important day, flags at our school and across the board, including the Catholic Education Centre will be flown at half-mast from sunrise to sunset on Monday, April 28, 2025. Thank you for joining us in remembering and honouring these individuals in York Region, Ontario, and across Canada.
Book Fair Information: Please see the attached document for more details on this event:Scholastic Book Fair.pdf
Parent Evening @ SBA: We are pleased to invite you to an upcoming parent engagement evening focused on a topic that is becoming increasingly important in our children’s lives—artificial intelligence. On April 8th at 7:00 p.m., St. Brother André Catholic High School will be hosting a special presentation for parents on how to support children in navigating the rapidly evolving world of AI. As technology continues to shape how students learn and interact, this session will offer practical insights and strategies to help you guide your child with confidence. The evening will be led by Giancarlo Brotto, a former YCDSB educator who is known for his engaging and informative presentations. He brings a strong understanding of both education and emerging technologies, making this a valuable opportunity for families. We encourage all parents and guardians to attend and take part in this informative session.
