✨ Virtue of the Month: Responsibility
This April, we focus on the Virtue of Responsibility, a cornerstone of our Catholic values. For many of our Grade 7 students, this virtue takes on deeper meaning as they prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Confirmation is a call to live our faith in action—not just to know what is good, but to do what is good. We encourage all students to honour their commitments, even when it’s tough, and to be trustworthy and dependable. Let’s continue nurturing these values as a community.
🌏 Asian Heritage Month (May)
Throughout May, we proudly celebrate Asian Heritage Month in recognition of the rich cultural traditions, stories, and contributions of Canadians of Asian descent.
In classrooms and schoolwide activities, we’ll explore the diverse voices and histories that strengthen our Church, our country, and our community. Let’s take this opportunity to honour, learn, and grow together.
☀️ Heat Advisory Procedures – Stay Safe!
With summer approaching, we remind families of our heat safety protocols under Board Policy 221 Extreme:In the event of extreme hot weather, when the Humidex is over 35°C or when heat waves occur during three consecutive days reaching temperatures of 32°C or higher. Prevention measures can include:

💧 Water bottles allowed at desks and outdoors

🌿 Recess routines may be adjusted by the Principal

🌬 Doors/windows open and lights off when possible

😎 Hats, sunscreen, lightweight clothing encouraged

🧊 Rotations in the air-conditioned library

☀️ Avoid direct sun exposure during peak hours
We monitor Environment Canada for real-time updates and take proactive steps to ensure the comfort and well-being of our students and staff.
❤️ Celiac Awareness Day – May 16th
Wear Red to Support Awareness
On Thursday, May 16th, we invite students and staff to wear red for Celiac Awareness Day.
Celiac disease is a serious autoimmune condition that affects 1 in 100–200 people. It requires a strict gluten-free diet to manage, and our support shows that we care about creating an inclusive, understanding environment for all.

🛡️ Safety Week – April 28 to May 2, 2025
As part of our ongoing commitment to safety, we will conduct practice drills (fire evacuations, lockdowns, etc.) with all students and staff this week. Teachers will discuss safety procedures beforehand to ensure students are comfortable and confident during each drill.
