SKTA This Week! (May 12 to 17)

Happy Mother’s Day!

Today, we stop and honour all of the Mom’s, future Mom’s and those who fulfill the role of Mom who have and continue to shape the lives of their children. As one of the first educators they play an important role in instilling and growing the hope of our students.

              A Mother’s Day Prayer

I said a Mother’s Day prayer for you to thank the Lord above for blessing me with a lifetime of your tender-hearted love.

I thanked God for the caring you’ve shown me through the years, for the closeness we’ve enjoyed in time of laughter and of tears.

And so, I thank you from the heart for all you’ve done for me and I bless the Lord for giving me the best mother there could be!

Celiac Awareness Day – May 16th

We would like to ask our school community to wear green to recognize Celiac Awareness Day. Celiac disease is a permanent intolerance to gluten which is found in wheat, rye, and some other foods. A person with Celiac disease who eats gluten can have different reactions, and it can result in malnutrition, anemia, and an increased risk of other autoimmune diseases. About 1 in 100-200 people have celiac disease. There is no cure for Celiac disease, and children with Celiac disease will not “grow out of it” – the only treatment is a strict gluten-free diet for life.
